On trend: How to wear this seasons purple

Purple is making a big statement this winter across the runways, particularly in darker, colder shades. Bold, bright and unapologetic, purple might seem harder to wear for some, but its lilac and lavender shades keep it minimal and fresh.

There are so many ways you can incorporate purple into your everyday outfit and if colour block garments aren’t for you, we suggest slipping purple into your accessories and sneakers.

We’ve drawn up a small selection of our top 3 purple picks:

1. Karhu Aria in Opal Grey and Liberty “Grape” £110

The Karhu Aria is a statement on its own, you can keep your outfit simple and let this retro sneaker do all the talking! The soft suede upper is split into 3 sharp colours, with the black toe cap and deep purple making a cutting contrast. With minimal reflective strips and sharp pink detailing, this shoe gives a real 90’s feel and captures this seasons deep, wintery purple perfectly!

    2. Van Anaheim Factory Sid DX in OG Grape £65

A slightly more subtle shade of purple, this modern take on the classic Vans Silhouette features a suede upper with the iconic Vans logo. Still maintaining the skater look, but also offering an on-trend lifestyle sneaker perfect for everyday wear. Easily paired with some wide leg work pants or a crisp pair of cords, the Sid DX is a simple silhouette that works perfectly with casual wear.

    3. Saucony Shadow 6000 – White and Purple £100

If you’re a little sceptical about slipping some purple into your wardrobe, the Saucony 6000, although mainly consisting of a white and grey suede/mesh upper, offers minimal lavender accents which compliment the sneaker perfectly. This shade is much softer and easier to blend into your outfit, pair with your favourite jeans or a luxurious satin midi skirt for an effortlessly on-trend ensemble, and remember – it’s all in the details!
