New year round up: Performance trainers
New year is just around the corner and this time we’re entering a new decade – 2020 has a nice ring to it right? Following weeks of indulging on mince pies and mulled wine, you can start to feel a little sluggish…and then along come the new year resolutions – Dry Jan, vegetarian, vegan, getting in shape? Being happier and healthier is normally at the top of everyone’s list, and where best to start than getting the perfect pair of trainers fit for all your new adventures?
Regardless of whether you want to start hitting the gym, learn a new skill, or travel to new places, comfort and durability should be at the top of your list. Our first contender is the Saucony Aya, lightweight and constructed using breathable mesh, these are ideal for the gym or running. The shock absorbing, rounded sole makes them great for high-impact activities, while the upper gives your feet close support with a multi-way lace. Renowned for their running shoes, Saucony opt for traditionally slimmer silhouettes to deliver the best performance trainers.
Our next style, the Vans Classic Slip on, is an easy on-the-go trainer that goes with everything! These might not be so good for running, but they are great for outdoor activities and being popular among skaters, they can take a bit of a beating. They are great if you’re looking for a low profile trainer that wears well and won’t break the bank. Being made of cotton canvas, these Vans are a perfect alternative for those who prefer not to wear animal products, making them vegan friendly.
Lastly, the perfect all-rounder, great for smart occasions, doing the school run and getting your sweat on, we have the Karhu Aria. One of our largest suppliers, Karhu have been growing in popularity in recent years and it’s no surprise when you look at the quality and design of these unique trainers. The Aria style has the same effect as a slip on trainer, but with added support from the rope laces and suede and mesh upper construction, the quality is evident in the bold, colourful finish. The thicker sole is designed to enhance shock absorption, with reflective detailing on the heel and toe cap doubling up as a visibility enhancer for those dark winter runs. Even if you don’t fancy using these as performance trainers, you will certainly get a lot of wear out of them!
